Hidden costs when choosing equipment

 
In the construction of buildings "especially hotels, as in our example" hidden costs often represent a far bigger negative factor than the obvious purchase price. 
 
These costs can dramatically erode the project’s overall profitability.
 
Among the most significant hidden costs are:
1- Installation delays, which can push back the hotel’s opening date - meaning lost revenue while property holding costs (interest, taxes, security, etc.) continue to run.
 
2- Higher labor wages driven by the complexity and time demands of the installation process.
 
3- Material wastage - leftover cable trunking, excess cable lengths, surplus concrete used to fill chases, and so on.
 
4- Increased cable quantities required, which directly raises material cost and complicates execution.
 
5- Need for extra auxiliary components (main control units, relays, contactors, etc.), whereas modern integrated systems often build these appropriate-rated relays directly into the device - eliminating several separate purchases.
 
6- Multiple wiring runs between the indoor service panel and the outdoor panel. 
Some systems demand five conductors, while others manage perfectly well with only two - a difference that translates into substantial savings in materials, conduits, and labor hours.
 
7- No built-in doorbell/chime in the outdoor service panel, forcing the purchase and installation of a separate chime + its own wiring + trunking - adding yet more material cost, labor time, and coordination effort.
 
Choosing a genuinely integrated, installation-friendly control system noticeably reduces all of these hidden expenses. It speeds up execution, cuts waste, shortens the path to handover, and gets the hotel into revenue-generating operation much sooner.
 
When making the purchase decision, the smartest approach is to evaluate the true total cost of infrastructure requirements, realistic installation time, and the value (or necessity) of additional accessories - rather than simply comparing headline unit prices for the same apparent function.
 
The difference between two seemingly similar products can easily swing hundreds of thousands (or more) once the full picture is considered.
